About the Artist

I live in North Vancouver, BC, Canada. As well as having worked with oils, gouache and acrylics, I have painted watercolour scenes in Portugal, Russia, Slovenia, New Zealand, Ireland, England, Mexico, and numerous locations around BC.

I moved to Canada from the UK in 2005 to be closer to my late father Ray Jennings, who taught in the Philosophy department at SFU for 50 years. I particularly enjoy exploring the textures and values created by inclement weather, as well as the richness of sunsets reflected in water, making Vancouver's North Shore the ideal place to be an artist!

By profession, I am a lecturer at Capilano University, and I have a Master's degree in Applied Linguistics from the University of Birmingham. I had private lessons at age nine with a celebrated local artist, later studying art, literature, philosophy and education.

My large acrylic mandala paintings were an experiment in creating an objective aesthetic that is pre-determined by symmetry and an interplay of colours. Prints of these nine square foot mandalas on canvas are available on the shopping page of this site.
