The approach of winter
The approach of winter was painted over a couple of bitterly cold days from the bridge at Crippen Park. It showcases Nick’s unique technique not only of subverting conventional approaches to watercolour, but of actually reversing its application of parts of paint to water. It uses rich tones to bring out the character of mountain ridges, trees and reflections in water, and it caused a virtual stampede of prospective buyers at the Royal Legion Winter Craft Fair 2019 when the doors opened.
This painting is reproduced on a 1-1/2″ linen canvas and stretched onto a solid wooden frame with hanging system attached, and with the painting continued around the edges of the piece.
Prints of each painting are available on stretched canvas, poster paper or unstretched canvas. Stretched canvas prices are provided; if you would like poster paper or unstretched canvas, please contact us for a quote.
